Hot! The Friday Five

I chose to go a bit “girly” this week.  I have to be completely honest and say that I would probably never be able to pull off this dress.  I am in love with the silhouette, but I think it just wouldn’t look right on me.  However, that’s not all I’m here for.  I am here with everyone else in mind and with that said, I’m sure plenty of you would look gorgeous in this dress.

I compiled this particular set with the holidays in mind, rather, I cannot get anything besides the holidays off my mind.  I decided this year that I will be “dressing up.”  I have not dressed up for Christmas in many years and I am excited to get dolled up for the festivities.  I am going to wear the dress I wore as a bridesmaid back in March for my cousins wedding.  I feel like I am a character straight out of “27 dresses” when I say this, but I’m having it shortened so I can wear it again.  Hopefully one of you out there will understand that reference.

The dress I chose here is budget friendly as are the majority of the pieces along with it.  Some would be a bit of a splurge for me, but I did find alternative options out there that would not require a big dip out of your wallet.  I chose these pieces because I liked how they all fell together.  I chose the black jewels because of the thin black belt that the accompanies the dress, but if you were to choose to remove the belt, I think your jewelry options would open up quite a bit.

I am becoming more and more obsessed with clutches now that I have been stumbling upon them everywhere and this particular clutch is now on my wish list.  The Joanie is available in two colors and is stunning with the lace and floral ribbon detail.  I don’t ever choose a detailed clutch when going out for a night on the town, but this clutch alone would add that little something extra to a lot of outfits.

The shoes were a tough pick.  While I love the look of the t-strap patent leather pumps, I feel a basic black platform pump or kitten heel would be a great choice as well.  Without being able to try the outfit on all-together, I cannot tell if the t-straps would be too much or not.

While I normally wear a nude lip as I previously stated, I chose a coral color for this outfit because I love a good coral lip with the right outfit.  Again, I wouldn’t be able to tell if it was a good choice unless I was able to try it out in person, but going off of the combination in the picture, I think it would be perfect.

I am still looking to put my Christmas party look together.  I recently got rid of the only pair of black pumps I had left and now I’m left with my platform black booties.  While they are on the “dressier” side, I’m afraid they may be too casual for my dress.  Where on earth will I find a pair of decent pumps in a week’s time?!  Keep in mind, when it comes to shoes I am extremely picky.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)   Have a wonderful weekend!
